Our Team History

DELAND AND VOLUSIA'S FIRST-EVER HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL GAME October, 1920, at Stetson Athletic Field against Orlando High School. DeLand Sun-News "game story" has no score, but states it is first game for DHS and was a rout. But the boys performed admirably, considering they tried on uniforms for the first time two days before the game and "scrimmaged" only once in preparation.
